Princess Mother's Childhood Residence

Princess Mothers Childhood Residence

The Princess Mother’s childhood residence was in Khlong San District, near Anongkharam Temple. HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana the king’s elder sister, wrote in her book, Mother’s Tales, about this house.
“Mother said once she could was living in this house near Wat Anong. It was like a row-house with many rooms,
a rented house with only the wall panels and the roof, The tenants had to provide other parts of the house, such as, the floor. It had a balcony with a thatched roof. Inside the house to the right was a raised platform, which served as an image room and Father’s office Beyond that were a sleeping chamber and a kitchen. There was no bathroom. They took a bath by the water jar on the front balcony, or in the canal nearby.”
The area is now preserved as a commemorative park for the Princess Mother with a replica building for visitors. There is a permanent display of the Princess Mother’s life story and contributions. The park is open to all.
